It provides a semi-rigid section for toe clearance and support, yet it has a thin flexible foot plate for easy trimming. The absence of a heel section makes the OSSUR® AFO Leaf Spring more comfortable to wear and provides a better fit in shoes.

Reviewers commonly describe the brace as lightweight, comfortable enough for extended wear, and helpful for providing moderate foot support and improving walking. Several say it fits in their shoes and is easy to adjust or trim; others find it works best for mild foot drop and does not restore a normal gait or provide strong support. Fit is not universal: some report pressure at the sides of the ankle, added shoe bulk, or sizing that runs large or wide. A few note the material feels thin or the footplate too flexible, and one reviewer says the brace wears out with use; evidence on long-term durability is limited.

This product is well made, and very comfortable. Works well for me, with a "mild" form of foot drop. This product (size large) fit right into my size 10 1/2 men's shoe with no trimming needed. The "foot" part is made of a thin plastic material that provides just enough rigidity to control my foot, thus allowing me to walk with a nearly normal gait. The part that attaches to my calf is comfortable, and closes with an adjustable velcro strap. Great value for the price. None that I have experienced. I am very pleased with this product.

I have a very mild case of drop foot in my left foot from a pinched nerve in my back. More of a nuisance than anything. This is the first brace I have tried that is actually comfortable. While I find that the footplate is a little too flexible I am using it in conjunction with a carbon fiber spring plate and it does a reasonable job of helping me to walk better. Of course, nothing is going to make me walk normally but it does as well as other more expensive braces I have tried and is much more comfortable. A brace doesn't do you a lot of good if you find it so uncomfortable that you don't wear it! I can actually wear it with the spring plate underneath and the memory foam inert from my shoe over the top. I can even wear it without socks. It doesn't rub anywhere and my shoe fits comfortably. I attribute the comfort mostly to the fact that it doesn't have a heel or that straight post that goes up the back of the leg. Having said that let me reiterate that I have a very mild case of foot drop. I doubt that it would work for someone with severe or even moderate foot drop. I even take fur baby to the park and am able to walk well over uneven ground without it rubbing anywhere. I can't vouch for how durable it is since I haven't had it that long. Not bulky Comfortable Can wear it with another insole Can go sockless Probably not for those with severe or even moderate foot drop Doesn't correct my gait 100% (but then, neither does anything else I've tried)

A great product. I have needed one now for about 5 years. It works, it is amazing and very affordable.

This is the 4th unit I've bought because I wear them out. So, yes, I'm satisfied with the design. One thing though - I ordered one unit, but received a 2nd one a few days later. Should I send it back? I've not opened the package.

Very comfortable, was not necessary to trim at all. Light, I sometimes forget that I have it on.

A very reasonably priced Brace for drop foot. I wear a size 12 shoe and have a very large calf wish they would leave extra Velcro so you could trim to size. that's my only complaint. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.

I was going to spend $1100.00 for a custom AFO or $900 for a non custom until I found this shop on eBay. What a surprise, the price! I ordered one for a right foot but a left came instead. I called and they sent an exchange even before I sent the wrong one back. The people I spoke to were very nice to work with. Thank you for the great service. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.

I have PPMS and was encouraged to buy an AFO costing hundreds of dollars. I am happy with this product even if does not last a long time because I can get many of these and still save money. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.

Ossur AFO Leaf Spring After 4 months of use, this orthotic works well, is comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time, and is an excellent value. I had previously spent over twice as much on a different orthotic with strap attachments that didn't stay in place. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.

I got this to replace one I got from physical therapy. It is made of thinner material and i was not sure about it, but it gives me the same support as the first one. It gives my foot just enough support so that I don't drag it. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.

A helpful support It is the first brace that I have used, being new to Floppy Foot. I find that it does help but not to the extent that I have anything near a normal gait. I imagine a longer period of evaluation may improve my impression of it. Size: Length runs large. Shoe Width: Width runs wide.

Great product for the price I have resisted getting an AFO for months. This one is super easy to use, is lightweight, and is very easy to trim to fit your shoe. I haven't found that you need a bigger shoe to accomodate it at all. If you need a ton of support then this one isn't for you, but if you are looking for something that is comfortable, lightweight, and gives you moderate support, then this one's for you. Size: Runs True to Size. Shoe Width: Runs True to Size. Would buy again.
